What Is Polyurethane Floor?
And How Does It Work?

Polyurethane Floor is a flooring system made from polyurethane resin that is 3× more flexible than epoxy, accommodating structural expansion and contraction while withstanding temperatures up to 120°C and severe impact — built for the most demanding industrial environments.

Polyurethane outperforms epoxy in extreme conditions: heat-resistant against boiling water and steam cleaning, cold-resistant down to -40°C in freezer rooms, and flexible enough to handle concrete structural movement without cracking. Ideal for food factories, industrial kitchens, cold storage, breweries, and pharmaceutical plants.

Capabilities of Polyurethane Floor

A polyurethane flooring system that outperforms epoxy in extreme conditions — meeting every challenge of the food, beverage, and heavy industry sectors.

Heat Resistance up to 120°C
Withstands heat from boiling water, steam, and steam cleaning without bubbling, blistering, or cracking — ideal for industrial kitchens and food factories.
Cold Resistance down to -40°C
High flexibility retains performance at extremely low temperatures — does not become brittle or crack in cold rooms and freezers, maintaining integrity across a wide temperature range.
Food Grade Certified
Certified food-safe with no toxic substances — resistant to concentrated cleaning and disinfecting agents, suitable for areas in direct contact with food.
Flexible — Handles Expansion & Contraction
3× more flexible than epoxy — accommodates concrete structural movement without cracking, making it ideal for areas subject to vibration.
Anti-Slip Surface (Aggregate)
Special aggregate embedded in the top coat provides the required surface friction for wet areas and wash-down zones, meeting HACCP safety standards.
Effective Drainage with Cove Base
Designed with a slope system and cove base (curved floor-to-wall joint) to prevent water and dirt accumulation, making wash-down cleaning quick and easy.

The Polyurethane Floor Process

A systematic installation carried out by specialist technicians — from surface preparation through cove base installation and quality testing before handover.

1
Assessment & Design
Engineers assess floor condition, moisture level, damage extent, and usage environment to specify the appropriate polyurethane system and design the drainage slope.
2
Surface Preparation & Repair
The floor is abraded by shot blasting or scarifying to open the surface and improve adhesion, then cracks and voids are filled with polyurethane mortar before main application begins.
3
System Installation & Cove Base
A bonding primer is applied, followed by cove base at floor-to-wall joints, then the polyurethane body coat to the specified thickness, finished with an anti-slip top coat.
4
Testing & Handover
Adhesion, thickness, surface evenness, and drainage performance are tested, with a quality certification report issued to HACCP standards for food factory compliance.
Polyurethane Floor Application

Which Industries Is It Best Suited For?

Polyurethane Floor is the top choice for areas requiring extreme durability — whether from heat, cold, impact, or aggressive chemicals.

01
Food & Beverage Processing Plants requiring a Food Grade floor that withstands wash-downs with boiling water, steam, and concentrated disinfectants — HACCP and GMP compliant.
02
Industrial Kitchens & Large Hotels where floors must withstand daily exposure to hot water, fats, oils, and high-pressure washing every day.
03
Cold Rooms & Freezers (down to -40°C) where standard epoxy would crack from extreme cold — polyurethane retains flexibility at any temperature, handling repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
04
Breweries, Dairies & Juice Factories where floors must resist organic acids from fermentation, sugars, and acidic liquids, combined with an effective drainage system.
05
Pharmaceutical & GMP-Grade Plants requiring a highly chemical-resistant, non-porous floor that can be fully sanitised and withstands organic solvents used in manufacturing processes.
