What is Structural Crack Repair?
And How Does It Work?

Structural Crack Repair is a service for repairing cracks in concrete structures by pressure-injecting specialist materials — either Epoxy Injection or Polyurethane Foam Injection — to seal and strengthen the structure, restoring it to its original condition or better.

Structural Crack Repair is the most effective method for: sealing cracks and preventing water ingress, restoring strength to damaged structures — ideal for high-rise buildings, bridges, dams, foundations, and structures requiring precision repair.

Capabilities of Structural Crack Repair

Pressure injection of epoxy and polyurethane foam repairs cracks of any width and orientation — delivering permanent strength and waterproofing without demolishing the structure.

Epoxy Injection — Fine to Medium Crack Repair
Pressure-inject liquid epoxy into cracks 0.1–10 mm wide — curing to a strength greater than the original concrete, ideal for cracks affecting structural stability.
PU Foam Injection — Permanent Waterproofing
Inject polyurethane foam into cracks and leaks — the foam expands, fills every void, and cures into a permanent water barrier, ideal for severely water-infiltrated structures.
Non-Disruptive Repair
Injection works from within the crack — no removal or breaking out of concrete required, minimising disruption to the overall structure and reducing programme time.
Stops Crack Propagation
Correct repair arrests crack growth and prevents water from reaching the rebar, reducing the risk of corrosion and long-term structural deterioration.
All Crack Orientations
Repairs vertical, horizontal, diagonal, and through-thickness cracks — applicable to both active (still moving) and dormant (stable) cracks.
Works in All Conditions
Operable in dry and actively leaking conditions alike — suited to confined spaces, occupied buildings, and structures that cannot be taken out of service.

Epoxy Injection
Pressure Epoxy Injection

Epoxy Injection is the pressure injection of liquid epoxy into concrete structural cracks. The epoxy penetrates cracks as fine as 0.1 mm, then cures to a strength greater than the original concrete — ideal for load-bearing structures requiring structural strengthening.

Suited for: Cracks 0.1–10 mm wide requiring structural strengthening — such as beams, columns, slabs, and load-bearing concrete walls.

Advantages of Epoxy Injection

Maximum Strength — Cured epoxy exceeds the strength of standard concrete, suited to high-load structural members.
Penetrates Fine Cracks — Effectively fills cracks as narrow as 0.1 mm under pressure.
Long-Term Durability — Once cured, resistant to chemicals, moisture, and elevated temperatures.
Restores Load Capacity — Reinforces damaged structures to return them to design load-bearing standards.

Advantages of PU Foam Injection

Permanent Waterproof Seal — Foam expands to fill every void in the crack, stopping water ingress immediately and permanently.
Works with Active Water — Specialist formulation reacts even when water is actively flowing through the crack.
Expands to Fill All Voids — Foam expands 10–40× to penetrate cracks and hidden cavities throughout the structure.
Fast & Flexible — Cures within minutes and accommodates structural movement better than rigid epoxy.

PU Foam Injection
Polyurethane Foam Injection

PU Foam Injection is the pressure injection of liquid polyurethane foam into structural cracks and sub-structure voids. The foam reacts with moisture and expands rapidly — filling every void and curing into a permanent waterproof barrier, ideal for severely water-infiltrated structures.

Suited for: Actively leaking cracks and joints — such as basements, tunnels, dams, and structures in direct contact with groundwater.

The Structural Crack Repair Process

A structured process delivered by specialist engineers — from crack survey and classification, port installation, and material injection through to inspection and quality certification.

1
Survey & Classify Cracks
Assess crack width, orientation, and depth; analyse the cause of cracking; select the appropriate injection material; and plan port locations along the crack.
2
Prepare & Install Injection Ports
Clean the crack with compressed air, install injection ports (nipples) at specified intervals along the crack length, and seal the crack surface with sealant to prevent blow-out.
3
Inject Repair Material
Inject epoxy or PU foam port by port until material emerges from the adjacent port, maintaining controlled pressure and flow rate; allow full cure per the specified time.
4
Inspect & Certify
Test repair integrity, verify structural strength and waterproofing performance, then hand over with a quality certification report and structural maintenance recommendations.
Structural Crack Repair Application

Suited for Which Project Types?

Structural Crack Repair is suited to all types of cracked concrete structures — from residential buildings to large-scale civil infrastructure.

01
High-Rise & Commercial Buildings — Repair cracks in beams, columns, slabs, and concrete walls of tall buildings, stopping water ingress and restoring structural strength to preserve asset value and safety.
02
Bridges & Expressways — Seal cracks in bridge girders, foundations, and decks caused by vibration and traffic loading, restoring strength and extending structural service life.
03
Dams & Water-Retaining Structures — Stop water leakage and reinforce the integrity of dams, reservoirs, and weirs cracked by hydrostatic pressure and structural movement.
04
Basements & Tunnels — Repair cracks and waterproof basements, tunnels, and underground structures against groundwater pressure and infiltration.
05
Foundations & Critical Infrastructure — Strengthen and repair cracks in building foundations, piles, and critical structural elements to prevent settlement and maintain structural stability.
