Epoxy ESD Floor — Electrostatic Control

What is Epoxy ESD Floor?
And How Does It Work?

Epoxy ESD Floor is an epoxy flooring system blended with special conductive materials, allowing the floor to safely dissipate static electricity to the grounding system in a controlled manner — preventing charge build-up that could damage sensitive electronic components.

Smart & Bright's ESD Floor system comes in 2 levels: Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD) — Surface Resistance 10⁶–10⁹ Ω for general areas, and Conductive Floor — Surface Resistance <10⁶ Ω for areas requiring maximum protection. Certified to IEC 61340 and ANSI/ESD S20.20 standards.

Capabilities of Epoxy ESD Floor

A comprehensive ESD floor system covering charge control, durability, and cleanliness — meeting the highest standards demanded by precision industries.

Electrostatic Discharge Control (ESD Control)
Safely dissipates static charges to the grounding system, preventing build-up that could damage ICs, PCBs, and other sensitive electronic components.
Certified to IEC 61340 / ANSI ESD S20.20
Materials and installation systems are certified to international standards. Surface Resistance values are tested and guaranteed before handover on every project.
Smooth, Seamless Surface
A continuous surface with no joints or cracks, minimising dust and particle accumulation — ideal for clean rooms where airborne particle levels must be tightly controlled.
Chemical & Abrasion Resistant
Resistant to IPA cleaning agents, alcohol, and process chemicals. ESD properties remain stable throughout the full service life of the floor.
Grounding System Integration
Installed with Copper Grounding Strips and earth bonding points to create the most efficient charge dissipation path in compliance with EPA Zone standards.
Selectable Protection Levels
Available in 2 grades: ESD Dissipative (10⁶–10⁹ Ω) for general applications, and Conductive (<10⁶ Ω) for areas requiring maximum electrostatic protection.

The Epoxy ESD Floor Process

A systematic approach led by specialist ESD engineers — from grounding system design and installation through to resistance testing and standard certification.

1
ESD System Design
Engineers assess the area, define the protection level (ESD or Conductive), and plan the grounding routes and earth bonding point locations for full coverage.
2
Surface Preparation & Grounding Installation
Diamond grinding of the substrate, repair of cracks and voids, followed by precise installation of Copper Grounding Strips and earth cables per the approved design.
3
ESD Epoxy System Application
Application of ESD Primer, followed by the Conductive Body Coat and ESD Top Coat in the specified number of layers, with resistance values verified between each coat.
4
Testing & Standard Certification
Surface Resistance and Point-to-Point Resistance are measured at every point to IEC 61340 requirements. A full test report is issued to certify the system before handover.

Which Industries Is It Suited For?

Epoxy ESD Floor is the standard for environments where strict electrostatic control is critical — across electronics, pharmaceutical, and advanced technology industries.

01
PCB, IC & Semiconductor Manufacturing Plants where components are highly ESD-sensitive and strict charge control is required throughout the entire production line.
02
Clean Rooms ISO Class 5–8 requiring simultaneous control of both airborne particles and static electricity — ESD Self-Levelling flooring addresses both requirements in a single system.
03
Server Rooms & Data Centres requiring ESD flooring to protect against electrostatic discharge that could damage network hardware and data storage equipment.
04
Pharmaceutical & Drug Manufacturing Plants where production processes demand both GMP compliance and ESD control to prevent ignition from static discharge in flammable material environments.
05
Electronics Research & Testing Laboratories requiring an EPA Zone (ESD Protected Area) to ANSI/ESD S20.20 standard for the testing of highly sensitive electronic components.
