Makro Nakornsawan –Structural Strengthening to Increase Load Capacity to 1,000 kg/m²

Project Overview

Makro Nakhon Sawan, a high-traffic wholesale center, required structural upgrades to enhance the load-bearing capacity from 600 kg/m² to 1,000 kg/m². To meet this objective, advanced Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) technology was deployed, providing strength, durability, and non-invasive reinforcement solutions.

Reinforcement Materials and Application

✅ Top Slab

  • Reinforced using SMARTFIBER-SHEET UT70-30

  • Quantity applied: 10,000 meters

  • Enhanced flexural strength for post-tensioned slab performance

✅ Bottom Slab

  • Strengthened using SMARTFIBER-STRIP TL1020

  • Quantity applied: 3,700 meters

  • Improved flexural rigidity and load capacity

✅ Band Beams

  • Reinforced at both ends with SMARTFIBER-SHEET UT70-30

  • Enhanced shear strength and crack resistance

🛠️ Installation Process

  1. Structural evaluation and assessment

  2. Customized strengthening design by structural engineers

  3. Installation of CFRP systems with high-performance epoxy adhesives

  4. Quality inspection through Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

✅ Project Outcomes

  • Structural load capacity successfully increased to 1,000 kg/m²

  • Support for heavy equipment, merchandise, and long-term use

  • Prevented potential cracking and deformation under new loads

Delivered a high-strength, low-impact reinforcement solution
