MARRIOTT HOTEL PATTAYA –Structural Reinforcement of Slabs and Beams for Hotel Renovation

 Project Overview

The MARRIOTT HOTEL PATTAYA project involved the transformation of an old building into a modern, high-standard hotel. To meet safety and design standards, structural reinforcement of the existing slabs and beams was required to accommodate new load conditions and functionality.

 Materials Used

✅ SMARTFIBER-STRIP TL512

  • Applied along slabs and beam soffits

  • Increases flexural strength of concrete elements

  • Lightweight and quick to install without altering original structure

✅ SMARTFIBER-SHEET UT70-30

  • Installed beneath slabs and as U-wraps at beam ends

  • Enhances shear strength and prevents cracking

  • Flexible application for complex geometries and retrofitting zones

🛠️ Installation Process

  1. Structural evaluation by engineering consultants

  2. Concrete surface preparation for bonding

  3. Application of SMARTFIBER-STRIP TL512 on slabs and beams

  4. Reinforcement with SMARTFIBER-SHEET UT70-30 on slab undersides and U-wraps

  5. Final inspection with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

✅ Project Outcomes

  • Reinforced slabs and beams to meet hotel-grade structural requirements

  • Safe accommodation of new live loads from hospitality functions

  • Extended life and performance of the original structure

  • Full readiness for high-traffic, high-standard hotel operations
