Project Overview

The MARRIOTT HOTEL PATTAYA project involved the renovation and refurbishment of an existing building into a luxury hotel meeting current international design standards. Structural strengthening of the slabs and beams was required to accommodate the new use with higher load demands and safety requirements.

Two complementary SMARTFIBER materials were selected — SMARTFIBER-STRIP TL512 and SMARTFIBER-SHEET UT70-30 — to increase both the flexural and shear strength of the structure, fully meeting international hotel standards.

Installation Process

    Structural Inspection & Analysis

    The engineering team inspected and analysed the existing building structure to design the optimal placement and quantity of reinforcement materials suited to hotel use.

    Concrete Surface Preparation

    Concrete surfaces were thoroughly cleaned and made ready for installation — removing dust, grease, and moisture to ensure maximum epoxy adhesion efficiency.

    Installation of SMARTFIBER-STRIP TL512

    SMARTFIBER-STRIP TL512 was installed along the slab and beam soffit zones to increase Flexural Strength at the positions designed by the engineers.

    SMARTFIBER-SHEET UT70-30 Application with U-Wrap Technique

    SMARTFIBER-SHEET UT70-30 was applied under the slabs and wrapped around beam ends (U-Wrap) to increase Shear Strength and prevent cracking at critical zones.

    Quality Verification by NDT

    Non-Destructive Testing was conducted to confirm bond strength and material integrity at every installation point before project handover.
